Somehow, we have managed to submerge in our hive-sub-conscious the consistent pattern throughout history of episodes of mass violence revolving around one ethnic and religious group, Jews. From the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem and expulsion from Israel, to the mass suicide at Masada, through the crusades, the spanish inquisition, pogroms of eastern europe, nazi genocide, soviet horrors, and the present day fiasco in the Middle East; in each case, violent behavior was instigated by self-identified Jews, or Jews had to be rescued from probable annihilation at great cost, or Jews were horribly murdered by groups of people not normally known for that kind of behavior.
[Of course, in the bizzarro world, we read an appraisal of the same events, but with a much different spin:
"Unfortunately for the Jews, for thousands of years the idea that God would choose one particular people to be His instrument of blessing to the world has really bothered a lot of non-Jews — and it’s bothered them enough to attempt genocide time and time again." http://www.redstate. com/tags/index.php?tag=israel
This author reasons that the real problem is wide-scale jealousy over the Jewish people's special arrangement with God. But Hashem, the God that Jews originally invented, and subsequently picked apart and argued about at great length and with such tenacity, even though the evidence they site for Hashem's existence is tautological, and would be impermissible in legal or ethical matters.
Somehow, it has become impossible even to allow notions of this kind to enter one's head, let alone write them down. And yet it is obviously true that Jews have found themselves the enemy of many groups throughout their long history; from the Romans, to the Spanish, to the Polish, the Russians, the Sunni and the Shia; From Haman and the Persians, to Pharoah and the Egyptians, to Goebbels and the Germans and now Bebe and the Persians, Arabs, and every country that shares a border with it., Jews have managed to get themselves killed en masse, usually in horrific fashion.
I know all this, because I am genetically Jewish, and all of these emotions are completely familiar to me. This is the cultural feeling in Jewish people, especially when they are allowed, or even encouraged to participate in group activities, such as religious services, where the bonds of solidarity and tacit agreement to unfairly enrich one another and one's offspring are forged and maintained. I avoid human contact to prevent others from experiencing my toxic personality. I am trying to do something useful in the world to apologize in advance for the destruction my relatives have already unleashed, and for what's to come.
I have been having these ideas for a long time, but I have only decided to write down my thoughts now because I just experienced passover in 2011, and I nearly jumped out of my skin as I watched my family continuing the heinous ritual of asking children to chant, "blood", etc. all the way up to "and the slaying of the first born" as they spill drops of blood-colored wine, at the very moment the armies of the emerging caliphate are rising, preparing for the great onslaught, the final mass martydom operation, to finally die as men, if they can't live that way. Thanks to Israel's brazen decision to continue stealing and killing, everybody now understands what has happened, even if they can't yet mentally articulate it:.
I was unable to participate and had to leave the sedar abruptly, much to my family's ongoing chagrin. My world is so shaken now, the visions of future doom so high-resolution now, and with the future seeming to converge with the present like Flight 93 about to smack into the Shanksville countryside. I feel released from the normal boundaries of propriety due to this oncoming doom, and so I have given myself permission to consider some of these possible scenarios.
There is only one thing we know about the future, and that is that it is going to be nothing like we can imagine. Due to the collapse of the economic system worldwide, and the unprecedented tide of bad blood and ill-will everywhere, the chances of catastrophe have become alarmingly high. Given all of the threats and our diminishing ability to manage the complexity of globalization, we must now start imagining what the worst could look like. One not unlikely outcome is the actual destruction of civilization and descent into world wide anarchy, signalling the end of what humans have been conscientiously constructing, throughout our long run here on planet earth. It actually appears that we may all actually expire. along with our culture, its appurtenances, and vestiges. But even if this does not happen, the future does not look very bright for the "first" world. We have squandered our wealth on building perfect replica mc donald's restaurants in the Iraqi desert, and permanent, high tech citadels around the world, where our young men and women grope or murder the local people, or each other. Now the world is in turmoil (again) and the plot focuses on the Jews (again).
